We had a great time combing through your Frankengadget mash-ups, and while there were many worthy submissions, we sadly had to narrow it down to just five. Our submission deadline has since passed, but now the real fun begins — it’s time to vote! Scroll through the gallery at the bottom of this post, then make your pick in the poll below, selecting just one winner (you can use the thumbs above as your guide). Your top selection’s creator will get to take home their very own copy of Adobe Creative Suite 5.5. Voting closes at 12PM ET on Friday, and the winner will be announced on the Engadget Show later that evening, so stay tuned!

We already knew to expect a 7-incher today, and that’s exactly what we got in the Kindle Fire. We just asked Amazon Kindle vice president (and thinking man) Russ Grandinetti when we might expect a larger successor. With a smile, Russ said “Stay tuned,” and left it at that. If you’ll recall, RIM’s Ryan Biden told us at a past Engadget Show that there was “no reason” the 7-inch BlackBerry PlayBook couldn’t be shipped in a different size, and given recent rumors that both outfits were working with Quanta, it’s not too tough to read betwixt the lines. We also asked about an international release of the Fire, knowing that many of you are lamenting its US-only release in November. We got the same response there. So, it’s coming… the only question is when.

We’ve got a whole lot of show coming at you this month! Tim and Brian start things off by unveiling
Distro, Engadget’s new weekly greatest hits magazine for the iPad. We also take a look at Sony’s new
3D-enabled video headset and the purse-friendly
HTC Rhyme.
Next up, Tim takes a spin around New York City on the Grace One electric bicycle, and we try to figure out whether it’s worth the rather steep price tag. Brian pays a visit to the folks at Frog to discuss the company’s long history and take a look at some of its industry shaping designs.
Keepon co-creator Marek Michalowski stops by the studio to discuss the creation of his little yellow robot and explain how the dancing ‘bot made the journey from research tool to retail toy.
We swing by the Maker Faire in New York to check out 3D printers, a life-size game of Mouse Trap and get stuck in the (Polaroid) Matrix. And Make: Live co-hosts Becky Stern and Matt Richardson join us in the studio to talk about some of their own favorite DIY projects.
We close the show with an interview and a few songs from Jonathan Coulton. (Spoiler: he plays the song from Portal.)
Hosts: Tim Stevens, Brian Heater
Special guests: Becky Stern, Matt Richardson, Marek Michalowski
Producer: Guy Streit
Director: Michelle Stahl
Executive Producers: Joshua Fruhlinger, Brian Heater and Michael Rubens
Music by: Jonathan Coulton

Say hello to Engadget Distro. At its most molecular level, it’s nothing more than a series of ones and zeros, cobbled together in a compiler and made to look like words and images on Apple’s iPad. But in reality, it’s something far greater — something that the entire Engadget staff couldn’t be more proud to have their names on. Distro is the week in technology news, distilled down and reformatted into a beautiful, offline view that can be enjoyed anywhere. You know, like one of those regional jets still awaiting their rightful Gogo injection. We’ve got a team of designers and editors toiling around the clock to assemble our best long-form feature content and reviews, re-wrapping it in a fashion that takes full advantage of a little thing called “multitouch.”
As of now, we’ve got plans to launch Distro on the iPad soon (as in, super soon!), but you can bet we’re already hammering away on versions for the other major tablet platforms. Rest assured, we’re as eager to finish them as anyone, and yes, they’ll all be absolutely free of charge. For those who find themselves a touch overwhelmed with the sheer torrent of news that occurs in this space each and every day, Distro offers a relaxing, peaceful alternative. Sort of like morphine, but available sans a prescription. We’ll be showing off a sneak peek during tonight’s live Engadget Show (tune in here!), and we’ll be sure to keep you abreast of our launch date as it draws closer. For now, have a look at what Distro will bring in the video after the break. We hope you enjoy.

Boy, have we got an action-packed show for you tomorrow! Some might say it’s a little too action-packed, but not us, man. And yep, we’re doing it live again, because that’s just how we roll. We’re shooting tomorrow at 6PM ET, and if you’re not lucky / local enough to join in on the fun in person in NYC, you can follow from home on this here site.
We’ll be joined by musician / internet sensation Jonathan Coulton, who will be discussing his viral rise to the top of the guitar-playing YouTube masses and treating us to a familiar song or two.
We’ll also be traveling to Maker Faire in NYC to take a look at robots, racing turtle shells, fire breathing iron dragons, and a lot of 3D printers. And Make:Live co-hosts Matt Richardson and Becky Stern will be joining us live in the studio to discuss some of their favorite DIY projects.
Then we’ll be paid a visit by the creators of the Keepon, to discuss the origins of their adorable little dancing ‘bot. Tim will take a trip through the mean streets of New York City on the Grace One electric bike and Brian will pop by Frog’s Manhattan location to take a look at the company’s latest industry-defining designs.

Remember when we took over Times Square last month? Contrary to comments-based speculation, we didn’t drop several years’ salary to see our names and faces (and pets) up in lights. We were actually shooting a segment for the Engadget Show about a new service from Times Square2 (TS2). The NASDAQ / Thompson Reuters alliance is working to increase engagement on the giant electronic billboards it controls in one of the most heavily trafficked spots in the US. The organization has designed a free API for developers, making it possible to create applications for its giant ad spaces on the side of the Thompson Reuters and NASDAQ buildings, and it showed us some of the fruits of its labor in the video clip that you’ll find after the break.

The Engadget Show is live again, tonight, starting at
6:00PM ET! Not only will it be filmed live in New York City, it will be streaming live to you on these very internets. Lock your browser in to this address at that time and you’ll receive yourself a visual treat and an information smorgasbord.
We’ll be looking at RIM’s latest smartphones and seeing how they fare, taking a trip to Italy to get a peek at what the Ferrari of 2030 might look like, chatting with Fusion Garage’s Chandra Rathakrishnan about the Grid 10 and Grid 4 (and why his company deserves a second chance), taking over Times Square, and chatting with the EFF to figure out just what the heck Google is going to do with all those patents.
Again, it’ll be live here at 6:00PM ET. Hop past the break for times in your timezone.
