We’re not sure how much longer it’ll be before the tiny fraction of Americans that can take advantage of AT&T’s LTE network will actually be able to put the HTC Holiday in their hands, but we imagine it won’t be too much longer. It looks like the dual-core super-phone just stopped by the FCC to have its radio checked out, and we’re happy to report the PH39100 came out unscathed. Though photos and specific branding were missing from the filing, we’re pretty confident that this 1700/2100/700 LTE device from HTC is, in fact, the Holiday. We’re also certain that Ma Bell is working like mad to get this 4.5-inch beast out the door real soon. figment of our imagination. Far from it: the device, dubbed the GT-P6810, just got put through its paces in the hallowed halls of the
Federal Communications Commission, and came out unscathed
and with some decent diagrams that actually show off the tablet in a somewhat flattering manner. The version seen going through the FCC is most likely a 16GB WiFi-only version, as no mention of wireless bands could be found. Whether or not it’ll hit US shores is an uncertainty, as passage through the government doesn’t guarantee it’ll actually be sold here, but the Galaxy Tab series has already had plenty of time to pick up a popularity point or two.

What’s this mystery e-reader? It’s the Kobo Vox, and it just made its debut on the FCC’s site. Is it a reworked version of the relatively recently released
Touch Edition? Is it a brand new reader from the company? The device is listed as being an “eReader Tablet,” so perhaps it’s something more akin to Barnes & Noble’s
Nook Color or the
Kindle tablet reportedly in the works from Amazon. And will Kobo’s recent appearance at
f8 play into the equation? It’s hard to say, but there are a few things worth noting here. First, if the above rough image is to be believed, the device is touchscreen, as with the company’s current product. The design, however, looks a lot more like the latest version of
the Nook than the new Kobo. A side shot reveals what appears to be a microUSB slot (no shocker there) and a headphone jack, something missing on both the latest Kobo and Nook (though both the
latest Kindle and the Nook Color rock one), while a “multimedia headset” was used in the testing. Also listed among the testing materials is a microSD card, so there seems a pretty good chance that this thing has expandable memory — again, not a surprise, nor is the fact that the reader is listed as being WiFi-enabled.

Verizon’s LTE lineup just keeps looking better and better all the time. The oft-rumored
HTC Vigor is the latest device to pass through the halls of the FCC whilst sporting Big Red’s 4G frequencies, along with a handy dose of CDMA / EVDO. HTC’s still keeping an uber-tight lid on all of the
details of this phone, however, mandating that all of the juicy secrets remain confidential for now. The Vigor’s rumored to have a 1.5GHz dual-core CPU, 1GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage, but we’re still in the dark despite the phone’s fancy new badge of approval. We haven’t seen anything this heart-wrenching since Pleo last made its way through the FCC. There’s just something depressing about watching an adorable little animal robot get torn down in the commission’s sterile government labs. Karotz, the successor to Nabaztag’s friendly WiFi-enabled throne has followed Pleo down the FCC rabbit hole, getting poked, prodded, and pulled apart, to assure that it won’t be shooting any harmful bunny death rays at you, the consumer. Also of note: the strangely ominous “Your New Life With Karotz” user manual cover.

Who ever said multiple personality disorder was a bad thing? Certainly not ViewSonic, whose Oak Trail powered ViewPad 10Pro — which does the dual OS dance with Windows 7 and virtualized Android 2.2 — just made its way through the FCC. The government’s stamp of approval on its WiFi and AT&T-friendly WCDMA radios means it won’t fry our brains, and it shouldn’t be long before we see the 10Pro in stores. Of course, we still don’t know the price of this device… or the psychiatric costs of its OS switching ways.

Looking for another way to add some
WiDi to your TV? Then you can now also add Belkin’s ScreenCast TV adapter to the list of options that are
available or imminent. It recently turned up on Belkin’s own website with a “coming soon” message, and it’s now just hit the FCC, which could mean that “soon” is actually really soon. As for the device itself, it’s about as straightforward as you’d expect, with just an HDMI port and some RCA inputs ’round back, plus support for full 1080p video and Dolby Digital 5.1 sound streamed from a WiDi-capable Windows 7 laptop. Look for this one to set you back $129 when it lands at retail.

This week brought news that Samsung’s Galaxy Tab 10.1 would be released into the wild in just a few days. Today, a WiFi tablet from the Korean company made its way through the FCC bearing model number GT-P7310. Which, you see, is slightly different from the GT-P7510 moniker we saw in another FCC filing earlier this month, and this ended up being the limited edition 10.1 passed out at Google I/O. While some may think that this could well be the 8.9-inch version of Sammy’s Android tablet, the above drawing is actually identical to the previous one bar the extra text at the bottom, so our money’s on 10.1 again — maybe this variant is destined for other countries? We shall see.

Poor Pleo. Everyone fell in love with the little green dino at first sight, but no one actually bought the thing. Undaunted, the adorable fleshy robot made a triumphant return at this year’s CES as Pleo RB (that’s “Reborn”), with the help of adopted manufacturer Innvo Labs. The newly invigorated ‘bot brings voice recognition, more sensors, and RFID-based command learning technology to the table. With all its new gear in place, Pleo was poked, prodded, and peeled by the FCC, revealing, among other things, that new RFID reader in its chin. The results are gruesome and not recommended for faint of heart robot dinosaur lovers. You’ve been warned.
