Announced today, the company has opened its first satellite service center at Los Angeles’ LAX airport, bringing unlimited roaming data to US-based travelers starting at $12.95/day. The rental MiFi Hotspot units, available prior to boarding, come packaged with an Unlimited aXcess plan, and can feed up to five of your data-hungry devices. So, if you’re headed out on that next Eurotrip, or just a terminal-bound refugee from Krakozhia, you might want to give this internet lifeline a whirl.

Looking to enhance that in-person baseball experience with one more technological distraction? Well, the wait is over, thanks to T-Mobile and its new tablet rental program at Angel Stadium in Anaheim. The company will not only offer the slates to patrons, but it’ll also push out customized content to enhance the superfan’s game-day stat overload — something we’ve seen before over at Safeco Field. Fans get to choose between a T-Mobile G-Slate or a Samsung Galaxy Tab, and the rental will only set you back a cool Hamilton, which is likely easier on the wallet than a decked-out hotdog. In addition to the tablet, you’ll also get your game-day program, a library of magazines for browsing between innings, T-Mobile TV and network access. So if you’re the casual baseball fan who scored free tickets, you can work on your Cut the Rope skills for a few hours… looking up to catch the home run jacks, of course.

Following the only logical path one can take after building a working 15x scale Atari joystick, Jason Torchinsky is pulling together all the Apple IIs that can be had for a quick concert. Those not already entranced by chiptunes will want to give LA neighborhood art space Machine Project a wide berth on Saturday, where participants will use a 16 step sequencer to get something like music out of the system’s timer circuit. Those interested in checking it out can check the source link for details, but if you actually have an Apple II laying around (and aren’t in the middle of a game of Oregon Trail, that’s serious business) you’ll want to show up around 6 p.m. to get things arranged.

The perks of living in a big city, eh? Citizens of Chicago, New York, Los Angeles and San Francisco are being treated to some three-dimensional March madness from the guys and gals at Nintendo. For the remainder of this month, Ninty’s 3DS handheld will be available to try and play in so-called Demo Pods (see above) at strategic locations in each marquee city. The Mii Maker app, nintendogs + cats, Madden NFL Football, Aslphalt 3D, and a selection of other games will be preloaded and waiting for you, letting you have a taste of what’s to come on March 27th. LA lovers of things that Keep it Real Fake, finding your next knockoff might be a little harder than anticipated. The Los Angeles police just busted a warehouse full of knock-offs, things like GiPhones, iPhoncs, PNPs, and Poops. Among all this junk, some $10 million worth, two dudes were found and arrested — two dudes who had records showing more than $7 million in profits. It seems KIRFing does pay, for a little while at least.

The headline says it all on this one, folks. Thanks to a tweet by Sprint representative Stephanie Vinge we know that company and Clearwire will be flipping the switch on 4G service in LA sometime before December 1st, following on recent successes in New York City, Tampa, Hartford, and many other lovely locales. Of course, we all know it isn’t actually 4G, but it’s as close as we’re going to get right now, and we’ll certainly take it.
