The first of Lenovo’s CES-announced S Series, the S205, sauntered into the computer manufacturer’s online store this week, albeit lacking the 8GB DDR3 SDRAM option mentioned at its announcement. The base model sells for $499, sporting a 1.60Ghz dual-core AMD Fusion E-350 CPU, an 11.6-inch (1366 x 768 resolution) 16:9 widescreen panel, 3GB of DDR3 SDRAM, ATI Mobility Radeon 6310 graphics, and a 350GB HDD. Two higher cost configurations score an extra gig of RAM, an optional Bluetooth radio, and a 500GB or 750GB HDD. The lesser of the higher end models can be had for a $429 at LogicBuy until Wednesday, if you can live without Bluetooth (which man did for thousands of years, but you know what we mean).

[Thanks, Tim!]

First they leaked, then they became official, and now they’re at HP’s online store waiting for your name, address and credit card information. The new Pavilion dv6 and dv7 laptops borrow liberally from the higher-end Envy line’s aesthetics — not that we’re complaining — and offer quad-core Core i7 CPUs that max out at 3.4GHz on the i7-2820QM when cranked up using Turbo Boost. The default running speed for that model is 2.3GHz and it has a pair of slightly slower brethren, ticking along at 2.2GHz (i7-2720QM) and 2GHz flat (i7-2630QM), all of which you can own on the dv6t or dv7t. Both machines come with AMD’s 1GB Mobility Radeon HD 6570 graphics chip, while the larger dv7t also brings a two-year warranty as standard. Its 1600 x 900 resolution on a 17.3-inch screen might disappoint those looking for mad pixel density, though few would be able to complain about its price. The dv6t and dv7t start off at $1,000 and $1,100, respectively, and are subject to a $150 instant rebate and free memory (6GB) and hard drive (750GB) upgrades that should make them very appealing value propositions.

First it was the Adamo, now it’s the Envy. HP has joined Dell in deeply discounting its aging 13-inch ultrathin, though unlike its Round Rock competitor, it hasn’t bothered to give it any spec bumps. Consequently, even with this interest-building $450 rebate, the Envy 13 loses out to the Adamo 13 in a straight spec fight — a 1.6GHz CPU, 3GB of DDR3 RAM and a 5400RPM hard drive are all either slower or smaller than Dell’s offering — but it does still have a pair of aces up its sleeve to get latecomers to part with their cash. Those include an external SuperMulti DVD rewriter and a discrete ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4330 GPU with 512MB of dedicated memory. Sure, it’s not much, but then neither is the new price.

Well… it’s Thursday… so is it like “Gray Thursday?” Oh no, wait, it’s Thanksgiving! Happy Thanksgiving y’all (at least, those of you in the US of A, and who celebrate.)

Anyway… Like we mentioned yesterday, you better stay home for Black Friday if you like, you know, being untrampled. And what better than the DotD feature to help you in your couch potato efficient shopper ways? Today we have the HP TouchSmart tm2 tablet, a lovely ULV in a Core i3 configuration for as low as $809 (or $899 for the Core i5) after a $250 rebate and a stackable $50 web-use coupon. Also, you get a “free upgrade to 4GB DDR3 memory, free upgrade to 500GB Hard Drive ($40 value), 50% off two 6-cell batteries and free shipping”.

We last mentioned the tm2 back in October and back then it was going for $884. You’re shaving a decent chunk off that price, and this is what you’ll be getting:

HP tm2 is powered by the new low-voltage Intel 2010 Core i3-380UM or Core i5-470UM with Intel HD graphics or optional 512MB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5450 switchable graphics. Features brushed aluminum design with “Riptide” engraved illustration wrapped in a lightweight & quiet chasis. The zero-force touch display enables you to twist it 180 degrees, fold it; use the included digital pen to write notes, draw or use your fingers to dictate onscreen (make multiple gestures to interact).

Need another use for those 3D glasses you were suckered into buying as an integral part of this year’s Halloween costume? Look no further, bubs. MSI has just outed its latest 3D-friendly laptop, the CX620 3D. Outfitted with a Core i5 (or a Core i3, if you’re looking to save a few bucks), this 15.6-incher also gets up to 8GB of DDR3 memory, a 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5470 GPU, HDMI / VGA outputs, 320/500/640GB hard drive, a DVD writer, two USB 2.0 sockets, an ExpressCard slot, 4-in-1 card reader and a pair of stereo speakers. You’ll find Windows 7 Home Premium runnin’ the show, while 802.11b/g/n WiFi, Bluetooth 2.1+EDR, gigabit Ethernet and a 1.3 megapixel webcam all make expected appearances. There’s no telling how long the six-cell Li-ion will last once the deathmatch gets going, nor how much it’ll cost when it lands sometime between now and who knows when. But hey, 3D!

Those of you who know me are aware that I consider 3D technology gimmicky and not ready for mass market. Or rather, that we’re still busy transitioning to HDTV for most people to be ready to adopt 3DTV in the living room. There is a caveat to this: it doesn’t apply to gaming. 3D TV, not so much, but 3D gaming is great and should you decide to game, in 3D, on a laptop, there are very few competitors to the HP ENVY 17 Quad Core i7. And it’s now clearly 3D-enabled and bundled with a pair of 3D Active Shutter Glasses. Of course, this is still an early-adopter’s item and as such, the rebates aren’t phenomenal, but $50 off this $1,599 machine is still appreciated. At $1,549, you get:

Core i7-720QM 1.6GHz (TurboBoost up to 2.8GHz), 6GB DDR3, 500GB 7200RPM HDD, 1GB ATI Mobility Radeon HD 5850, 17.3″ 1080p 3D UltraBrightView Infinity LED LCD, Blu-ray, TruVision HD Webcam, Wireless-N, backlit Keyboard, Bluetooth, Bundled 3D Active Shutter Glasses, Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit OS
