NVIDIA’s historically outspoken CEO, Mr. Jen-Hsun Huang, just took the stage here at AsiaD, and among other things, he confirmed to Walt that the Tegra roadmap is well established, and in fact, the entire next-gen range is being produced (internally, of course) right now. That’s Kal-El, Wayne, Logan and Stark, all codenamed after superheros — Superman, Batman, Wolverine and Ironman, in order of mention. In response to a question of if ASUS’ Transformer Prime would be “the first Tegra 3-based product,” Huang simply answered “probably.”

He continued by explaining that it generally takes around three years to build a new generation of Tegra: “We’d like to have a processor every year, and so we’re building three in a row.” Tegra 3 will end up being the world’s first quad-core ARM processor (much like the Tegra 2 was the first dual-core), and he confirmed that NVIDIA has invested some $2 billion in Tegra alone. Finally, he confirmed that the inner workings we’ve heard about in Project Denver will first be present in the Tegra line with the introduction of Stark — a long ways out, but at least you’ve got something (else) to look forward to.

So, here’s a thought. Why, if you were a dutiful Adobe employee, would you waste countless days and weeks creating what could very well be the next big iPad app, only to deem it a concept and never actually promise a real release? Exactly. During the 2011 edition of Photoshop World, a bigwig from the company took the stage in order to showcase what could soon be possible with Photoshop on-the-go, and if you’ve been wowed by the powers of Photoshop Express, you’ll be utterly floored by what Adobe has been able to do here. The wildest part, in our estimation, is the absence of stuttering when manipulating multiple images and applying filters, but then again, they may be working with a pixel-optimized set of shots (versus a full-size RAW, for example) in this particular demo. As we said, no one’s even confirming that this has any hope of breaching reality, but we’re going ahead and making the outlandish assumption that Adobe’s not just wasting our (and its own) time by showcasing this in public. Wow, we have to hand it those Nokia social media types, they’re on top of their game. A mere couple of hours after Stephen Elop and Steve Ballmer took the stage in London, the video of their joint announcement of a Nokia-Microsoft partnership is up and ready for repeated consumption. For those of you just catching up now, Windows Phone 7 has become Nokia’s “principal smartphone strategy,” MeeGo is getting transformed into an experimental “learning” platform, and Symbian… well, maybe you should sit down for this one, Symbian’s being killed off. There’s more to the strategic alliance unveiled today, including the WP7 Marketplace subsuming the Ovi Store and some Bing and Ovi Maps interaction, so why not press play above and let the men in charge tell you about it?
