Back at Mobile World Congress in February, Sony Ericsson managed to surprise attack us with the reveal of its Xperia pro. Now, nearly a full year and oodles of leaks later, that Android 2.3 QWERTY slider’s ready to find comfort in consumers’ hands. Hitting retailers globally this October, SE’s 3.7-inch enterprise-minded handset comes pre-loaded with Mc Afee mobile security, Office Suite Pro, and is designed to make syncing with MS Exchange and other email clients a cinch. Business-friendly add-ons aside, the device packs ANT+ (to keep you in peak road warrior shape), and a generous 8.1 megapixel rear camera outfitted with an Exmor R sensor for HD video and 3D Sweep Panorama capture. There’s also a Type & Send widget to make use of the device’s Smart Keyboard — which suggests reply options when slid open — letting you bang out and send off text from the homescreen. Sound like the kind of slider that’ll suit your white-collared needs? Then hit up the source below to get your order on.

The baseball season is almost over, but we’ve got one more playoff series to enjoy before giving things over completely to the fall and winter sports. We’ve also got a new new shows premiering this week, alongside notable Blu-ray releases including The Crow and Cape Fear. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames.

Boss
Kelsey Grammer comes back to TV this week on Starz playing the mayor of Chicago, who has just been diagnosed with a degenerative brain disease that he’s trying to hide from both his friends and his enemies. Focused more on political intrigue it probably won’t have the action of The Chicago Code, but the intricacies of the corrupt political machine at work should remain. Check out a trailer after the break, apparently this first season was already impressive enough that it’s been renewed for a season two before the premiere episode airs Friday.
(October 21st, Starz, 10PM)

World Series
The long baseball season has finally come down to the last two teams standing. the Texas Rangers and St. Louis Cardinals both feature impressive offensive and defensive lineups, which should make for an exciting round of baseball, as long as the series goes. The first four games are all scheduled to take place over the next week, so check the schedule below and clear out a little time for the inevitable Pujols/Hamilton/Cruz show.
(All week, Fox)

Once Upon A Time
Game of Thrones this ain’t. This new drama premieres on ABC Sunday and attempts to update fairy tales for the modern age. The plot centers around a woman who is contacted by the son she gave up for adoption who believes that she is actually from an alternate universe where she is the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. Now he lives in a normal-looking neighborhood that is actually populated by the characters of the most famous classic children’s stories. The subject matter is a bit out there, but coming from writer’s whose biggest credit to date is their work on Lost, who would expect anything different? There’s a trailer for this one after the break as well.
(October 23rd, ABC, 8PM)

How can we still have fall premieres left? After the onslaught of the last two weeks it seems there’s still a few to go, as old standbys like House join fresh faces like American Horror Story and Penn & Teller Tell a Lie on the premiere list. It’s also a big week for Blu-ray discs, as seen above with a couple of classics showing up, some Disney favorites returning for the first time and special treats like Daft Punk’s Interstella 5555 and Planet Earth Special Edition. Look below for the highlights this week, followed after the break by our weekly listing of what to look out for in TV, Blu-ray and videogames.

Pulp Fiction
After waiting far too long for Quentin Tarantino’s hit movie to debut on Blu-ray we got an early look at this one and it’s worth the wait. Both the picture and audio quality are impressive, while we didn’t have a copy of the imported version to compare them to the picture is clean and artifact free, while the 5.1 soundtrack gives equal time to the witty dialogue and occasional action. There’s no audio commentary present, but there is about an hour or so of new HD extras included for the fans. If you’ve somehow avoided seeing this movie so far we don’t even know what to say to you, but this is the best way to watch since it debuted in 1994.
($15.99 on Amazon, October 4th)

House
Everyone’s favorite jerk of a doctor returns for an eighth and possibly final season tonight. With Cuddy gone and Dr. Gregory House locked in jail we’re wondering if it can keep the medical procedural formula fresh for another year, but so far it’s held up well despite cast rotations and the so often under-appreciated main-character-loses-his-mind plot twist. Don’t have enough reasons to watch? Jaleel White is guest starring in tonight’s season premiere episode, so there you go.
(October 3rd, Fox, 9PM)

The League
If you’ve listened to our podcast or are participating in either of the official Engadget HD leagues, then you already know we’re all in when it comes to fantasy football. The League returns this week for a third season and captures all of the insanity that happens when people stop being friends and start getting real… pretend. Despite its very intense focus on a group of friends and their over the top competition, as well as guest appearances by NFL stars, there’s enough comedy there to keep watching whether you’re watching tonight’s game hoping a backup RB gets 75 yards and a touchdown or not.
(October 7th, FX, 10:30PM)

There’s nothing a like an (almost) fresh and exciting color variant to make us totally forget about the PS4. Besides, this little dazzler will come with a 320GB HDD and two equally white Dualshock controllers, which means you’ll only have to spray-paint your PS3 Move, headset, external drive, wheel and eyebrows to match. Look out for it at GameStop in the UK, Germany and possibly other Euro nations too, as well as at Electronic Boutique in Australia from November 1st — or just pre-order via the source links below.

If Wall-E’s lady friend, Eve, and Spielberg’s E.T. were to come together in engineering matrimony, we’re pretty sure this white EVO 3D would be the resulting offspring. This “rare and beautiful” unicorn from HTC’s beastly, dual-core Android herd hails from the Hesse-led network, and will be available as a RadioShack exclusive on September 9th. The electronics retailer dipped more than just its toes into our 21st century ways (or more likely hired a new intern), getting the message out via its Twitter account, and snapping an Instagram shot of the bleached handset. Pricing for the phone has yet to be announced, but we’d be surprised if this gets a premium over its $199 on-contract twin.

When we’re out on the water, we’re constantly longing to take our phones and mp3 players for a swim with us… aren’t you? Now we can enjoy a little “I’m on a Boat” when we’re actually on a boat — thanks to Grace Digital Audio’s Eco Pod — without worrying about our handheld’s survival. The company announced today that its latest sand, shock and waterproof enclosure is now available — and it even comes with a set of waterproof earbuds. While the added protection will set you back $50, the ability to bump Katy Perry while exploring a coral reef is, indeed, priceless. Scope out the full PR after the break for all the specifics, and get your white water rafting playlists ready.

Albino Nexus S, meet your better specced, bleached out, dual-core nemesis — the mythical white Samsung Galaxy S II. The leaked snap is certainly timely, coming in only one day after a UK retailer promised the colorless beast would go on sale August 15th. We can’t vouch for that, but we do know US peeps can now sign-up for “more info” on Sammy’s website, so stateside GSII fans should be hearing more from the company soon. Will word come of the LTE-toting, ivory dream phone we’ve been lusting after? Probably not, but getting the baddest black Android on the planet is still pretty darn good.

Nintendo hasn’t been too keen on letting us mere mortals stroke the Wii U, as no amount of coins could unlock the console’s cabinet at E3. Surprisingly though, Inside Games managed to get up close and personal to this white box outside its little cave, and then came home alive with a few clear shots. Mind you, there’s hardly anything exciting here: we’re just gazing at some air vents on the side and back, plus a few ports — including HDMI — on the latter. As pointed out by our brethren over at Joystiq, only time will tell whether this curvy Wii U will come with an attachment to imitate its predecessor’s vertical standing. Check out the backside after the break.

Do you crave hamburgers but also want to minimize your interaction with fellow human beings? Then your unicorn-riding white knight has arrived, in the form of White Castle’s new online ordering service. Thought not quite as handy as Domino’s UK-only SMS ordering, the feature is rolling out to all 400 US locations. The website lets you “customize your sack” however you please; it also has a pretty high (or non-existent?) limit on quantities, meaning 1,000,000 Bacon and Cheddar Sliders will set you back $1,190,000. That could be a bug or a feature, depending on how hungry you are. Sadly, no matter how large your order you’ll still have to go to the burger joint to pick it up — delivery is still just a beautiful, beautiful dream. Maybe they can partner with MIT for a print-on-demand service.
